The Organisation

CARE is an international development and humanitarian aid organisation fighting global poverty, with a special focus on working with women and girls to bring lasting change to their communities.

The Position

CARE’s Storian Blong Yumi is a Health and Inclusive Governance pilot project supported by the Australian Government’s Innovation Exchange to test new approaches to working with communities and service providers to improve health. The Learning and Influencing Coordinator - Health and Inclusive Governance project will be responsible coordinating the learning and influencing activities for the project to ensure the pilot is maximising its impact on health systems and policies, and to coordinate learning and evaluation of the pilot project.

Essential Selection Criteria

► Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Development Social studies, Gender, or Health or equivalent projects and/or minimum 4-5 years relevant work experience, preferably in community based development work and/or activity implementation with an International Non-Government Organisation.

► Proven experience in influencing, advocacy or knowledge management

► Ability to develop high quality, concise reports and submission with accuracy

► Demonstrated strong leadership, decision making, problem solving, planning, analytical and influencing skills;

► Representational skills including developing networks and relationships with key stakeholders.

Desirable Selection Criteria

► Excellent written and spoken communication in Bislama and very good in English, French would be an asset

► Demonstrated experience in effectively leading, people management and motivating a team

► Demonstrated honesty, maintaining confidentiality, reliable and trustworthy

► Proven ability to work safely and effectively with communities and vulnerable groups including at risk youth and children
