The Organisation
The Vanuatu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) is Vanuatu’s National Private Sector organisation. It is VCCI’s intention to become an organisation that makes a unique and significant contribution to the future of the country by representing the private sector in dialogue with Government and others, and by providing effective business development services across the country.
The Position
The purpose of this position is to implement VCCI’s Business Information & Advice strategy for providing businesses with the information and advice they need to help them start and run sustainable businesses, and ensure Government and others are well informed about the private sector. Key responsibilities include: • Establish a Register of Members • Provide reliable information and advice to the business community, Government, government services, and others • Provide information and advice using multiple communication channels – first in English, then adding French and Bislama • Provide a drop-in information and advice service in Port Vila in person, plus provide services online, by email or on the phone • Conduct surveys of member businesses
Essential Selection Criteria
► Bachelor's degree or higher in relevant subject(s)
► Information research and management skills
► Highly developed ability to interpret and synthesise information to produce online and print resources that are effective for the target audiences
► Excellent communicator in writing and in person, in English and/or French and Bislama
► Vanuatu citizen
Desirable Selection Criteria
► Prior customer service experience
► Strategic thinker – able to see the big picture as well as the detail
► Practical, reliable and efficient – delivers high quality work, on time
